“Falls Church Community Film” (Comments recovered by Pat Rutter)

Four minutes before the end of Physics, they started to troop into the lab: first Gary, then Beek, Carpy and Raiford complete with lights and camera on a wheeled tripod that squeaked shamefully. Evidently they were Tony Hodges’ lights, judging from some of his comments.

Then into Speech they came, at 1:30, equipment and all. And Graham was giving something – supposed to be an entertaining speech.

Then Government. Larry Manwaring comes in, Carpy, Gary, Raiford, Larry Wilson and held the lights up around the room. Neal began to speak on Pakistan, and of course in the middle of his introduction, Carpy shouted “Kill the lights!” Then screech, screech, (they took the) camera to the back of the room. Some puzzlement, discussion (by the film crew?). Tony cries to turn off his expensive two-hour lights. Then the trio departed, followed by ? and Neal resumed. But: “I forgot where I was!” Neal got well into Pakistan. Then on went the lights, despite Tony’s disapproving glances. Questioning began to be interesting. Then one of the 4-hour bulbs exploded. CRASH! Replaced with a regular large light bulb. For some reason, Carpy was affecting a pork pie (hat) and a large button on his chest. Gary also sported a button, in addition to a battered straw cowboy hat. Larry ambled back into the room. Tom Varney mounted a desk behind Jerry; Tony, all red and apoplectic, gesticulated.

Howard Johnson's awesom sign.

Malcolm Carpenter photographed everything! The 55-cent Mighty Mo was Howard Johnson's, right?

A zoom-in on that menu above.

Tom Varney, Larry Wilson, and Chip Chandler do the Can-Can to celebrate graduation.
