Doug Calkins was the expert skater.  That's Tony Hodges putting on his skates in the background.

Poor Gunnar (executing a hand stand at right) was unable to stay vertical at any point.

But even Doug took some spills.  That's Gunnar face-planting again in the background.

Nicky Chambliss, off to school?

Malcolm Carpenter and Gary Crowther re-enact the birth of the expression "Hoo-Ha!"

Half the senior class is in this picture taken on a field trip somewhere.  Larry Wilson thinks it was the Possum Point Power Plant.  No one else seems to remember.  Mr. Jawish is on the left, regrettably standing next to Neal Monette.  But who is the man on the right?

Peggy Betters prepares to play the National Anthem before the party starts.

The "Great Flood," summer of 1957(?)

Tripps Run (Oak Street Creek) running under Sherrow Ave. near intersection with W. Cameron Rd.

Oak Street (as seen from Oak Street School) has been totally flooded.  The bridge across the creek in just this side of the car's headlights.

A flood fairy moves to the left of the garbage cans in Malcolm Carpenter's back yard.

The flood fairy has stolen Malcolm's shoes.  She causes a small tree to spring up in the yard.

Bill Graham photographs the damage at Falls Church Motors (Dodge/Plymouth) on Lee Highway.

Later, Bill Graham changes the oil in his camera at the Texaco station.  Note, a telephone booth!
